Ray and Joan were one of the many stories in the book i thought would be great to talk about in this project. The story of a man in love who left duty to marry his wife, to return perfectly in time not to be fires. Turns out Raymond (still alive) is also my Great Great Uncle.
Below is a photograph of the image.

So i decided to see how many words it would take me to write the story. But i slowly started to realise of the length of writing and its importance for the impact of story. After much deliberation and having a close friend Siobhan to read over and edit, we discovered that writing a whole story may deem impossible inside of a whole mug.

There was things in the photo that i loved. Things such as Beryl Cook styled humour such as the brown sauce in the wedding cake photo showing the humour and reality of Stoke in the past.
I wanted to see if i could possibly gather this information and narrative into a drawing that would be clear and concise.
