Typography

Typography was going to be paramount to this process to add a sentimentality to my own work.

I then thought of the perfect font. My aunt scribbled over all of her books with little comments. Her font being written in capitals made it very easy to read.

So i decided to make my own font copying this.

Using a word called Calligraphr i managed to formulate my own font copied from my Aunt Smoke.

I made two fonts. I made a title one that was also influenced by my Nana’s and also one that was made solemnly for Aunt Smoke.

I added my own little effects to make sure that the typography was in keeping with the style of my image. Using the motif of my three lashed eye, i used letters that joined at the top such as the T and J to give a more concise style.

I used the font to formulate some of my favourite stories from the picture book. These were the stories that made the most impact on me and i made little simple backgrounds to support the font as reference.
